My History With Little White Wedding Chapel
Getting married or eloping at Little White Wedding Chapel was not on my bingo card before I started as a professional photographer. It's one of those things I'd seen on TV shows and movies, and occasionally in the news. But the first time I walked into Lil White, I can tell you that reality did not match expectations.
The first couple I ever took there goes all the way back to 2008, when I was still working part-time. I was in sales during the day and doing photography after work and on weekends. The couple who brought me along was from New York, and they hired me for the day, with a limo, to photograph them while they eloped in Las Vegas. Back then, not many people hired a photographer outside of whatever the wedding chapel itself provided. Photo shoots on the Strip weren't really a common thing yet, because the demand wasn't there and the gear wasn't what it is now.
What to Expect at Little White
One thing to know about getting married or eloping at Little White: it's one of the busiest wedding chapels, if not the busiest, on Las Vegas Boulevard. Expect to see more than one other couple around the grounds. Expect tourists wandering in to see the place and snap photos. And if you're planning on getting married in the pink Cadillac, expect an audience watching and taking pictures of that too. That's just part of the charm.
An Iconic, Legendary Chapel
It's iconic and legendary. Frank Sinatra and Michael Jordan got married here. So did Britney Spears. So did Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Sansa Stark herself, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark - daughter of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell), married a certain Joe Jonas here. And when I worked here as their head photographer, I got to meet George Lucas.
Photographing at Little White Today
That first job back in 2008 turned into a relationship with this chapel that's lasted my whole career. To this day, I still photograph weddings at Little White for couples who booked their ceremony directly through the chapel. Little White's management currently allows outside photographers on the property, which isn't something every chapel does, and it's something I don't take for granted.
Years of shooting here means I know the property better than most people. I know where the light works best at different times of day, which corners of the grounds photograph beautifully but get overlooked, and how to work around the crowds and the constant flow of ceremonies without ever getting in the way of the chapel's own team. If you've booked your ceremony at Little White and want photography that goes beyond a quick snapshot at the altar, I know exactly how to make the most of this property for you.
From Photographer to Officiant
For a stretch in the summer of 2017, I worked at Little White as an officiant. I married over 500 couples that summer before deciding to go back to being a full-time photographer. My dad works at Little White now too — you might see him around.
I've photographed thousands upon thousands of couples at Little White over the years, and I owe a lot to this place. If you're planning to get married here, you're in for an adventure.
