The Retreat on Charleston Peak Wedding Photography
Your Trusted Mount Charleston Wedding Photographer, In Every SeasonIf you're dreaming of a mountain wedding just outside Las Vegas, The Retreat on Charleston Peak offers something no desert venue can: real alpine scenery, cool mountain air, and a rustic lodge backdrop that feels a world away from the Strip — even though it's only a 45-minute drive. As a preferred vendor and photographer of The Retreat on Charleston Peak, I've photographed dozens of weddings here across every season, including winter ceremonies in the snow, giving me a rare, firsthand understanding of how this venue photographs year-round.
About The Retreat on Charleston Peak
Nestled at roughly 6,700 feet in Kyle Canyon, within the Spring Mountains National Forest, The Retreat on Charleston Peak is a rustic-chic mountain lodge just 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Surrounded by pine forest and dramatic canyon views, the property offers several distinct settings for ceremonies and receptions, including the Aspen Banquet Room, a private terrace overlooking the mountains, and outdoor forest ceremony sites. Couples can host anywhere from an intimate elopement to a full wedding weekend with on-site lodging, dining at the Canyon Restaurant, and space for up to around 80 guests.
Because of its elevation, The Retreat offers something truly unique for a Las Vegas-area wedding: real seasonal variety. Spring and summer bring lush greenery and cool temperatures that offer a welcome escape from desert heat, fall brings golden aspen color, and winter can bring genuine snowfall — an incredibly rare and beautiful setting for a Las Vegas wedding photo.

Why Choose Me as Your Retreat on Charleston Peak Wedding Photographer
  • Dozens of weddings photographed at this exact venue, across every season the mountain offers. I also spend time on the mountain on my off days. Hiking, Mountain biking and camping. I go here as a local when not shooting a wedding.
  • Snow wedding experience. I've photographed ceremonies here in the snow — a genuinely rare occurrence for a Las Vegas-area wedding, and one that requires knowing how to work with winter light, cold-weather logistics, and mountain road conditions.
  • Preferred vendor status with The Retreat on Charleston Peak, built through years of professionalism and a strong working relationship with their events team.
  • 18+ years as a Las Vegas wedding and elopement photographer, with deep experience across the region's most distinctive venues, from the desert to the mountains.
What to Expect
Because The Retreat sits at altitude and outside the desert climate that defines most Las Vegas weddings, timing and preparation matter more here than almost anywhere else in the region. Light shifts quickly in the canyon, temperatures can drop fast once the sun goes down, and winter dates can bring snow with very little notice. Having photographed dozens of weddings here in every condition, I know how to plan the day's timeline, work with the mountain light, and adapt on the fly — whether that means chasing golden hour through the pines or capturing a couple exchanging vows with snow falling around them.
